Greg Engle won first prize in the 2011 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting Competition in Okemah, Oklahoma, for his song “Woody’s Ghost.”  With the permission of Woody Guthrie Publications and Ludlow Music, he has recorded the song with Woody Guthrie’s two oft-omitted verses from “This Land is Your Land.”  The combined work is called “Woody Walks This Land.”

Produced by veteran Austin producer Stephen Doster and recorded and mixed by James Stevens at EAR Studio in Austin, “Woody Walks This Land” features Engle on guitar, lead vocal and harmonica, Doster on guitar, Dony Wynn on percussion and Chris Maresh on bass. Doster and Steve Snyder provide back-up vocals, joined by Donna Lipman, Maureen & Ryan Engle and Catherine Gavin on the verses of “This Land Is Your Land.”
